WHAT IS SOLUTION FOCUSED THERAPY?
At Seaview Hypnotherapy I offer the latest techniques in positive psychology, solution-focused brief therapy and hypnotherapy to address a wide range of issues and concerns. I offer gentle and effective methods that enable you to reach your goal of wellbeing.
Solution Focused Therapy follows an approach that seeks to understand where you want to be and through the setting of goals, we work together to help you get there.
All consultation and treatment is conducted in confidence in our peaceful, private setting.
Here is a description of what solution focused brief therapy is.
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
I use a version of hypnosis called trance. Trance is a very ordinary state of mind, we go into trance when we watch TV, when we're out for a jog and even when we're cooking dinner. It's that feeling when your mind wanders and you start day-dreaming, thinking about something other than what you are doing.
During the session, I will use gentle music and relaxation to bring about that feeling of day-dreaming and encourage your mind to wander whilst I use specialist language to develop your feelings of confidence. You are always in control of this sensation and can bring yourself out of the trance at any time.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each session is somewhere between 50 minutes and an hour. The session is designed to allow you to discuss what it is that brings you to me today and to develop ideas for bringing about positive change.
The initial consultation is usually about 90 minutes long to allow us to get to know each other and to develop an effective plan for working on your future you.
The Stop Smoking session is 2 hours long and includes a full consultation and a personalised treatment plan.
WHY DO I HAVE A RELAXATION DOWNLOAD?
The relaxation download is tailored to meet your needs. It includes a full body relaxation and then takes you on a relaxing journey where you learn to recognise your inner resilience and coping skills. I use positive language to help you feel more confident and in control and you are introduced to a short story that encourages you to think differently about your fears and worries, helping you to find a new way of thinking and a new way of being.
You may receive more than one download as therapy progresses and your needs change. However, you will be able to keep all downloads for as long as you like and keep them as a useful future resource.
